SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN | |
2 sm. cut up chickens 1 bottle Russian dressing 1 pkg. onion soup mix 1/2 c. water 1 jar apricot jam 1 sm. can pineapple chunks Spread chicken pieces in 9"x14" pan. Mix onion soup with water, Russian dressing and apricot jam. Pour this mixture over chicken and bake in 350 degree oven for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Drain juice from pineapple chunks and save to use to baste if needed. Save some of mixture also. Baste and turn chicken pieces frequently. If chicken looks like it's getting too brown too fast, lower heat to 300 degrees. Near end of cooking, add pineapple chunks. (Ovens differ, chicken should be a crispy brown when done.) Serve over rice or noodles. |
