CHOCOLATE PICNIC CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips

Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour boiling water over the oats and let stand for 10 minutes. Add sugars and mix well. Sift flour, soda, salt and cocoa and add to oat mixture. Add half the chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over top of cake. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes. Yield: one (9 x 13 inch) cake pan. QUICK 'N EASY....

Tip: when using glass baking pans, reduce heat by 25 degrees.
