GREEN BEANS AMANDINE 
1/4 c. slivered almonds
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs. fresh green beans, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash ground nutmeg (optional)

Combine almonds and butter in 2-cup glass measure. Cook at HIGH 2 to 3 minutes, or until almonds are lightly browned; stir twice; reserve. Combine beans and water in 2-quart casserole. Cover with lid. Cook at HIGH 11 to 14 minutes, or until beans are tender; stir once. Drain. Add remaining ingredients, almonds and butter. Let stand, covered, 3 minutes before serving. Yield: 4 servings.
