PEARLENE'S CHOCOLATE COBBLER 
CHILDREN ARE A GREAT COMFORT IN YOUR OLD AGE... AND THEY HELP YOU REACH IT SOONER!

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt butter in casserole dish. Mix together remaining ingredients and pour over melted butter.

TOPPING:

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa

Mix sugar and cocoa and sprinkle over cobbler - "DO NOT STIR!"

Add 1 1/2 cups boiling water, pour over top - "DO NOT STIR!"

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

Good hot or cold. Serve with vanilla ice cream or sweet cream.
