CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix rolled oats and boiling water together and let cool. Cream shortening with sugar and eggs. Add the oatmeal mixture along with flour, cocoa, soda, salt, and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Bake in 9x12 inch greased pan in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes. Frost with Coconut Icing.

COCONUT ICING:

1 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. coconut
1/2 c. milk

Mix well and boil until thick, about 6 minutes.
