4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening.

In another bowl mix soda and sugar. Beat eggs, milk and vanilla. Add to sugar mixture. Pour into flour. Mix until smooth. Chill.

Roll thin. Cut with cookie cutter. Sprinkle sugar over cookies. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees until golden browned.
