SPAGHETTI IN MEAT SAUCE | |
1 large onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 1/4 lbs. ground chuck 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 2 (9 oz.) cans Italian tomatoes 2 cups water 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. basil 1 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 8 ozs. spaghetti, broken Cook onion, garlic and beef in Dutch oven over medium heat until the meat loses its red color. Stir occasionally. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Stir in the spaghetti. Cover and simmer until the spaghetti is tender. Stir occasionally. If necessary, add water to cover spaghetti. Be careful not to over cook spaghetti. |
