ANGEL BISCUITS 
2 pkg. yeast
6 c. self-rising flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
1/4 c. lukewarm water
2 c. buttermilk

Sift together the dry ingredients. Set aside. Put yeast into 1/4 cup warm water. Stir, then let stand. Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Add yeast and buttermilk. Stir well. Pour onto floured board. Knead. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Bake at 425 degrees until golden brown.
