SCRUMPTIOUS SHOO-FLY PIE 
1 c. flour
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. King syrup
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (9 inch) pie crust, unbaked

Mix flour, brown sugar and shortening to form crumbs. Set aside 1/2 of crumbs for topping. Mix egg, syrup and 3/4 cup water. Add to dry mixture. Dissolve soda in remaining 1/4 cup water; add to mixture. Pour into pie crust; sprinkle with crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.
