THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. dark corn syrup
1 egg, separated
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. nuts
Tart jelly

Mix butter and sugar. Stir in syrup, egg yolk and flour. Chill. Roll into 1 1/4 inch balls, dip into slightly beaten egg white and roll into nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet. Press thumbprint in center. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Fill with jelly while still warm. Makes 24.
