DATE PUDDING 
1 c. chopped dates
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. nuts
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Put dates, sugar and butter into a bowl and add boiling water with soda. Let cool a bit and add the nuts, flour and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
