VENISON COUNTRY STYLE STEAK AND GRAVY | |
4 cubed venison steaks (or beef) 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 small onion, chopped 1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms 2 tbsp. vegetable oil GRAVY: 2 env. brown gravy mix (McCormick) 2 cups water Salt and pepper cubed steaks, then dredge in flour, set aside. Get skillet hot on medium-high heat and add vegetable oil. Brown cubed steaks in oil and then remove them to a plate. Add onions and mushrooms to the oil and cook until semi done. Drain oil out of skillet. In a bowl combine water with the gravy mix and set aside. Put the steaks, onions and mushrooms back into the skillet and add prepared gravy mix. Turn heat down to a medium-low, simmer and cook for about 30 to 45 minutes, stirring often. Serve with wild or white rice. Enjoy! Serves 4. Submitted by: Debi Barbour |
