2 c. Bisquick 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 1/4 c. milk 1/4 tsp. each cinnamon and nutmeg Sugar coating Heat oil (3 to 4 inches) in heavy saucepan or deep fat fryer to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients except sugar coating until smooth. Gently smooth dough into a ball on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times. Roll out 1/4 inch thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Drop rings, 3 to 4 at a time, into hot oil. Fry about 1/2 minute on each side or until golden brown. Lift from oil with fork; drain on paper towels. While warm, shake doughnuts in sugar coating; 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon combined in plastic or paper bag. Makes about 1 dozen. |
