"K" COOKIES | |
1 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. soft butter 2/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 egg 3 c. Kellogg's Special K's Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Blend butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Stir in sifted dry ingredients together with 1 cup of the Special K's. Roll teaspoonfuls of dough in remaining Special K's. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: About 40 cookies, 2 inches in diameter. Variations: Chocolate: Stir in 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces with the Special K's. Coconut: Stir in 1/2 cup shredded coconut with the Special K's. Nut: Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nutmeats with the Special K's. Peanut butter: Use 1/4 cup peanut butter in place of 1/4 cup butter. Raisin: Stir in 1/2 cup raisins with the Special K's. Date: Stir in 1/2 cup cut dates with the Special K's. Note: For even high protein value, 1/4 cup non-fat dry milk may be blended with butter mixture for the plain cookies or any of the variations. |
