COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. raisins
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. strong coffee
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. currants (optional)

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Add eggs; beat well. Add molasses. Sift together dry ingredients; add to mixture alternately with coffee. Place in greased angel food cake pan or 9x9 inch square pan. Bake in medium oven for 55- 60 minutes. Approximate oven temperature 350 degrees.
