COCKTAIL OR LIME PICKLES 
4 c. vinegar
3 to 4 level tsp. canning salt
1 tsp. pickling spice, in a cloth bag
6 c. sugar
1/2 c. water

Slice thin medium size cucumbers. Mix 1/2 cup lime to 1 gallon water. Pour over cucumbers, covering well. Let stand overnight. Take out of brine and rinse well in several waters. Put on clear cold water and let stand at least 3 hours. Rinse well again. Pour syrup over pickles, bring to a boil and simmer 35 to 40 minutes. Put in jars and seal.
