SODA BEER | |
2 oz. tartaric acid (cream of tartar) 2 tbsp. flour 2 lb. white sugar Whites of 2 eggs 2 qt. water Juice of 1 lemon Mix cream of tartar and flour with sugar. Combine all ingredients. Boil about 3 minutes. When wanted to use put 1/2 teaspoon baking soda in a glass. Dissolve in 1/2 glass water. Pour into it about 2 tablespoons of the lemon mixture and it will foam to the top of the glass. This is sometimes called "The Deacons Summer Drink" and flavored with winter green instead of lemon. |
