TOMATO DUMPLINGS 
1 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. milk

Combine first 3 ingredients. Mix well. Mixture should be coarse. Add milk. Set aside.

TOMATOES MIX:

5 c. peeled, chopped tomatoes
1 med. onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. dried whole basil, crushed
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer awhile. Drop dumpling dough by tablespoon into boiling mixture. Cover, let simmer 12 minutes without stirring.
