1 egg 2 c. flour 1 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder Combine all ingredients and mix until dough is elastic with wooden spoon. Drop little bits into boiling salted water and cook for 5 minutes. When they come to the top, take out with slotted spoon and drain. Saute shredded cabbage (1 head) in melted butter (1/2 pound) until tender, mixing to prevent sticking. Add salt and pepper, dried parsley, and instant onion to taste. This is a slavish dish which I grew up on. it can be used as a side dish or make a meal out of it. Delicious. |
