GERMAN PASTIES
1 pkg. hot roll mix
1 small head cabbage
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. fresh parsley
2 tbsp. ketchup
1 onion, chopped

Prepare the roll mix according to the package directions (or use Pillsbury refrigerator biscuits or Bisquick).

Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic; drain well. Layer leaves of cabbage over ground beef. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water. Cover; cook until the cabbage is tender. Cut up cabbage and mix into the ground beef. Add ketchup and other seasonings; season to taste with salt and pepper.

Roll out the dough and cut into four-inch squares. Place a small amount of beef mixture in the center of each square. Fold over the corners and press the seam.

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet until slightly brown at 350°F.

When pasties are done, slit one end and pour in mustard or ketchup.

Note: May substitute ground beef with bulk sausage or cabbage with Mozzarella cheese.
