CARAMEL GERMAN CHOCOLATE
BROWNIES
 
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 bag caramels (about 50)
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. (17 1/2 oz.) German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips

In double boiler (or microwave) combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk and melt. Set aside. Generously grease lightly flour pan. In large bowl combine dry cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup milk and nuts. Stir by hand until dough sticks together. Press 1/2 dough into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Sprinkle caramel mix and chocolate pieces over baked dough. Crumble reserved dough over caramel mixture. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes more. Refrigerate 30 minutes to set. Cut into bars.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
