DANISH PUFF 
FIRST PART:

1 stick butter
1 c. sifted flour
2 tbsp. water

Cut butter into flour until fine. Add water and beat this until it forms a ball and leaves the sides of the bowl. Press mixture onto a cookie sheet.

SECOND PART:

1 stick butter
1 c. water
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1 c. sifted flour
3 eggs

Put stick of butter and water in saucepan and bring to a full rolling boil over high heat. Remove from heat, add almond flavoring. Add flour all at once and beat with a wooden spoon until mixture forms a ball in the pan. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.

Spread this mixture over the first mixture, be sure edges of bottom layer are well covered. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

THIN VANILLA ICING FOR DANISH PUFF:

2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk or cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine these ingredients, ice while still warm. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, cherries, etc. Cut into squares for serving.
