DANISH PUFF COFFEE CAKE | |
1 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 2 tbsp. water 1/2 c. butter 1 c. water 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1 c. flour 3 eggs Measure first cup of flour into bowl. Cut in butter. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and mix with fork. Round into ball; divide in half. Pat into 2 strips, 3x12 inches, on ungreased cookie sheet. Heat second amount of butter and water to boiling. Remove and add flavoring. Beat in flour, stirring quickly. When smooth, beat in one egg at a time. Spread over each pastry. Bake 60 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost with powdered sugar icing. Sprinkle with almonds. |
