JAM CAKE 
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. blackberry or strawberry jam
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon

Combine shortening, sugar and eggs; add jam and mix well. Stir in dry ingredients with milk. Pour into greased and lightly floured oblong pan or 2 layer pans. Bake in moderate oven for 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost with fluffy white icing.
