GRANDMA'S CABBAGE 
2 lbs. sliced cabbage
1/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
Pepper to taste
2 stalks celery, chopped fine
1 sm. onion, chopped fine
1/4 lb. fried & crumbled bacon, reserving grease
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
1 apple, chopped fine

Parboil cabbage in salted water for 5 minutes. Drain, rinse and return to pot with fresh water (less than when parboiling, but enough to almost cover the cabbage). Add the remaining ingredients, mixing well. Cover and cook at medium heat until tender.
