OLE FASHIONED COBBLER 
1/4 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2 c. fruit (cherries, peaches or berries)
another 1/2 c. sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Mix dry ingredients together. Alternately mix sugar mixture, dry ingredients and milk to form a smooth batter. Pour batter into 2-quart casserole. Spread 2 cups cherries over batter. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar on the fruit, then pour 1/2 cup juice (or whatever has accumulated from the fruit) over top of mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
