LUCILLE'S POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
6 eggs
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. lemon
3 c. sifted plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk

CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE:

Add 1/2 cup cocoa, 1/4 cup more of milk.

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and lemon extract and blend well. Add eggs one at a time and continue beating after each addition.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately to creamy mixture with milk. Pour into a well greased and floured large tube pan. Bake for 1 1/4 hours at 325 degrees or until cake is done.
