LOELLA HANSEN'S MOLASSES OATMEAL
BREAD
 
2 c. quick oatmeal
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. light molasses
1 tsp. salt
1 c. warm water
2 pkgs. yeast
6 c. flour

In saucepan, bring 2 cups water to boiling. Stir in the oatmeal, mixing until smooth. Cook until thick 1 minute. Add butter, molasses and salt. Stir and cool until lukewarm.

Sprinkle yeast over the ONE cup of warm water in a large bowl. Stir until dissolved. Add molasses mixture and 3 cups flour. Beat with a wooden spoon until smooth 3 minutes. Gradually add rest of flour. Mix with hands until dough leaves side of bowl. Knead 10 minutes. Grease and let rise until double, 1 hour. Grease 2 bread pans.

Divide dough in half. Roll each into 12 x 9 rectangle, roll up and seal ends. Let rise again 1 hour until rounded sides comes to top of pan. Set oven rack in middle of oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
