FRENCH MEAT LOAF | |
1 lg. onion, chopped 1 tbsp. French onion soup mix 2 sm. cans tomato sauce 2 tbsp. sugar 2 c. water 5 lb. ground beef 2 tbsp. French onion soup mix 6 slices dry bread OR 3/4 c. wheat germ 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. powdered beef bouillon 1 egg Combine onion, French onion soup mix, tomato sauce, sugar and 2 cups water. Bring to a boil and pour over prepared loaves. Mix ground beef, 2 tablespoons French onion soup mix, dry bread or wheat germ, salt, powdered beef bouillon and egg in a bowl. Make 2 loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. (May remove second loaf 20 minutes earlier and freeze for another time.) |
