1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. peeled & diced green apples
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Cream 1/3 cup sugar with butter. Blend in 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and flour. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9" spring pan and 1" up sides.

Blend together cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour this mixture over dough.

Combine 1/3 cup sugar with cinnamon and mix with apples. Layer this over cream cheese mixture and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees and continue baking for another 25 minutes.

Cool before removing from spring pan.
