COCONUT POUND CAKE 
1 1/3 c. Crisco
2 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1 c. coconut
5 eggs
2 tsp. coconut flavoring
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Cream sugar and Crisco for 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Add milk and flavoring. Add dry ingredients. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees in cold oven.

TOPPING:

1/2 stick butter
2 tbsp. white Karo
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk

Simmer 25 minutes in double boiler. Pour over cake while hot. Sprinkle with coconut.
