STIR FRY MEAT AND VEGETABLE | |
2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs. pork, chicken or beef, cut in small chunks or slices 2 c. vegetable broccoli, green beans or cauliflower, or carrots 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 4 scallions, sliced or cut into 1 inch pieces 3 tbsp. soy sauce 3 tbsp. dry sherry 1/2 tsp. ground sugar 1 tsp. cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tbsp. water 1 tsp. oriental sesame oil, optional Heat oil over medium heat in wok or fry pan. Add meat and stir fry until done. Remove with slotted spoon. Add vegetable, stir fry 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add mushrooms, scallions, sauce, sherry and ginger. Stir for 2 more minutes. Add dissolved cornstarch and meat, cook until heated through and sauce has thickened. Serve over rice. Serves 4. |
