COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
1 tsp. butter flavoring

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Add vanilla, almond and butter flavorings. Bake in a greased, floured tube pan. Put in a cold oven. Turn oven to 300 degrees and bake about 1 1/2 hours.
