CORNISH PASTRY PIE
This dish was developed by the Cornish miners and was brought to the California Gold Rush by the miners. It was developed so that the miners could take a complete meal in one easy-to-transport container.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line bottom of pie tin with layer of pie crust. Cover with a layer of cubed round steak. Next cover the meat with a layer of cubed potatoes. Lastly, cover with a layer of cubed white onions.

Sprinkle with parsley and add butter bits (2 tablespoons). Cover with the top crust, making a couple of slits to allow the steam to vent. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before serving. Delicious hot or cold!
