FROSTED APPLE BARS 
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch

Cook until thick. Let stand to cool. 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. lard (Crisco) 1 egg 3 tbsp. water 6 c. sliced apples 1 tbsp. cinnamon

Mix flour, salt and lard like pie crust. Add egg and water. Roll out 1/2 dough and line a 9x13 pan. Place apple slices on crust. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Pour cornstarch mixture over apples. Roll out second half of dough and place over all.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1/2 hour or until apples are tender. Cool for 1/2 hour. Then drizzle a mixture of 1 cup powdered sugar and milk (to thin) over crust.
