FRUIT CAKE BARS 
2 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted chopped dates
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 lb. pecan halves

Grease jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with raised sides. Line with brown paper. Grease paper. Coarsely chop together dates, pineapple and cherries. Put date mixture in a bowl. Sift flour, baking powder and salt onto fruit. Mix to coat fruit. Beat eggs until frothy, add sugar and mix well. Add to fruit and mix well. Add pecans and mix again.

Press into greased pan. Bake at 275 degrees for 1-1 1/2 hours or until brown. Cool 10 minutes. Turn onto board. Carefully peel off paper. Cool completely and cut into squares.
