PRIZE WINNING BREAD (WHITE) 
2 c. milk
1 tbsp. shortening
1 c. water, cold
2 tbsp. salt
6 tbsp. sugar
1 1/3-2 cakes compressed yeast
12 c. bread flour

Scald milk with shortening. Add cold water, salt and sugar. Crumble in and stir smooth; 1 1/3-2 cakes compressed yeast. Add and beat thoroughly, about 12 cups bread flour. Let rise to more than double its bulk. Cut down with knife to original size and knead a few minutes.

Divide and mold into 4 loaves; or 2 loaves and 16 rolls. Let rise to double size. Bake bread at 375 degrees for approximately 40 minutes; rolls bake for 25 minutes.
