CHRISTMAS JEWELS 
2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup white corn syrup (Karo)
1 cup water
1/2 tsp. oil flavoring
food coloring

Blend sugar, corn syrup and water in a large saucepan. Cook, without stirring, to 300°F on candy thermometer. Remove from heat.

After boiling has ceased, add flavoring and color. Spread thinly in a buttered pan or tray. Score in 1/2-inch strips or cut with scissors.

When cool, break into small pieces and roll in confectioners' sugar.

COLOR/FLAVOR COMBINATIONS:

The candy may be flavored as follows:

 • green - wintergreen
 • blue - anise or spearmint
 • yellow - lemon
 • red - cinnamon
 • pink - clove
 • white - peppermint

Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.
