FUDGY CHOCOLATE 
2 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (15 oz.)
2 (1 oz.) sqs. unsweetened chocolate, broken up
3 tbsp. solid vegetable shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In 2 quart glass bowl combine 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips, unsweetened chocolate and shortening. Heat in a microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes or until melted and smooth when stirred. Cool. Add sugar, corn syrup, egg and vanilla and blend well.

Mix in flour and baking powder. Stir in remaining 1 cup chocolate chips and cup nuts. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonful 1 1/2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. With finger tips flatten slightly. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool cookies 5 minutes then remove to wire rack.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
