2 lg. eggs
1 c. Crisco oil
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 1/2 tsp. water
4 c. apples, sliced
2 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Beat eggs with oil until foamy. Add sugar, vanilla, and soda dissolved in water. Then add rest of ingredients and beat. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes in oblong pan (greased and floured).

ICING:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar
