CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1/2 lb. chopped candied cherries
1/2 lb. chopped candied pineapple
1/4 box golden raisins
1 1/2 lbs. chopped pecans
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 lb. butter
4 eggs, slightly beaten
3 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 4 oz. whiskey
3 c. flour
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix fruit, raisins and nuts, set aside. Cream butter and sugar, add beaten eggs. Add spices to flour, then add dry mixture (flour) to egg mixture alternately with whiskey and soda. Add milk last. Batter will seem stringy or rubbery due to whiskey and eggs. Pour over fruit and blend. Drop spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake for about 10 minutes. Cover unused batter with damp towel between bakings. Makes about 12 dozen.
