ENGLISH TRIFLE | |
Needed: Tea fingers or pound cake 3/4 to 1 c. sherry 1 pkg. vanilla pudding Raspberry jam 1 c. strawberries Fresh whipping cream in carton Almond slivers, optional Either slice tea fingers in half or pound cake thin and spread with raspberry jam and cover with other half of tea finger or thin slice of pound cake. Arrange in the bottom of a large bowl. A punch or salad bowl. Measure between 3/4 cup to 1 cup of sherry and pour over cakes. Make vanilla pudding (instant) and pour on top. Cover with Saran Wrap and let sit in refrigerator for approximately 8 hours. At this point you can add fresh strawberries if you want. About 1 cup. Pour cream from carton into cold metal bowl and whip until firm pour over top. Add either almond slices or strawberries on top. Serve immediately or refrigerate. |
