DOUBLE-CHOCOLATE WALNUT BROWNIES | |
1 c. butter (2 sticks) 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate 2 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sifted all purpose flour 1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips Melt butter and chocolate in a medium size saucepan over moderate heat. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar gradually with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; stir in vanilla. Stir in flour until thoroughly combined. Add 1 cup of the walnuts. Spread in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Combine remaining 1/2 cup walnuts and chocolate chips. Sprinkle over top of cookie mixture pressing down lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until top springs back when lightly pressed. Cool completely and cut into 2 dozen bars. |
