SPAGHETTI PIE
1 (8 oz.) pkg. spaghetti, broken in 2-inch pieces
2 tbsp. soft butter
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
1 med. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 qt. spaghetti sauce, homemade or bought
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 lb. cottage cheese
12 oz. shredded Mozzarella

Cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain. In a large bowl, mix butter, Parmesan, salt and pepper, and egg. Add spaghetti and toss to coat well. Spread evenly in 9x13 inch pan.

Brown ground chuck in large saucepan, adding onion, pepper, and garlic just as meat starts to cook. When meat is browned, drain off fat. Stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, and oregano. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti layer; top with meat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella; bake another 10 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
