PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
2 c. regular flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. peanut butter
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add shortening, peanut butter, milk and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes. Add 2 eggs and beat for 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool.

FROSTING:

2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. peanut butter
Dash salt
Milk to make smooth
Optional: chopped peanuts

Sift powdered sugar into bowl. Add shortening, peanut butter, salt and enough milk to make smooth. Optional: top with chopped peanuts.
