OKRA SUPREME 
3 slices ham or bacon
3 med. onions, sliced
1 qt. young okra (whole or sliced)
12 ripe tomatoes
1 tumbler water
2 tbsp. lard or fat
Flour to thicken
Salt & pepper to taste

If bacon is used 1 tablespoon lard is enough. Put lard, onions and ham or bacon in pot and fry until onions are brown. Extract juice and seeds from tomatoes. Add tomatoes and okra. Add tomato juice and a tumbler of water. Simmer over a slow fire for 3 hours. Thicken with flour and season with salt and pepper, adding a little water from time to time to prevent burning. Good for a crock pot.
