PEANUT BRITTLE 
1 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
3 c. sugar

Boil all above in large cast iron pan until it spins a thread. Add one cube butter, 4 cups raw peanuts. Cook until light brown and practically burned, but be careful not to burn it. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda. Stir briskly and pour into two large greased pans.

Alternate method: Use only 3 cups peanuts and add 1 cup coconut just before pouring into pans. Do not coconut. Cool, then break by cracking.
