GRANDMOTHER'S DATE NUT BREAD 
24 dates, cut in half & then in thirds
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. boiling water

Cover dates and let cool. 2 eggs 2 c. sugar

Cream together and add to date mix. 4 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped walnuts

Bake in 6 #2 greased and floured corn cans or small loaf tins. Fill 1/2 full and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
