“HOLIDAY SALAD” IS IN:

HOLIDAY SALAD 
A twinkling cranberry star set in lime jelly makes an eye-arresting salad for Christmas.

1 (14 oz.) can jellied cranberry sauce
1 (3 oz.) pkg. lime-flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 cup finely-diced celery
lettuce

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; cool.

Slice cranberry sauce one-fourth inch thick and cut into stars with a star-shaped cutter. Arrange 9 stars in bottom of shallow pan (8x8-inches).

When gelatin begins to congeal, add celery and pour over cranberry sauce stars.

When firm, cut in squares so that the star is centered in each square of jelly. Serve in lettuce cups or on shredded lettuce.

Serves 9.

VARIATIONS:

 • Cranberry "Bells" molded in lime gelatin for New Year's.
 • Cranberry "Hearts" set in pineapple gelatin for Valentine’s Day.
 • Cranberry "Pumpkins" in orange gelatin for Halloween.
 • Cranberry "Turkeys" set in lemon gelatin for Thanksgiving.
