MY NEVER FAIL POUND CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. sifted self rising cake flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. vegetable shortening 3/4 c. milk 1 stick butter, room temperature 5 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 cup tube or bundt pan. Combine flour, sugar, vegetable shortening, milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer at medium speed for 20 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl occasionally. Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand in pan for 10 minutes. Remove cake form pan; cool to room temperature on rack. |
